Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, supposes that Ukraine shall suggest its own Initiatives concerning Ukrainian-Russian Relations
"At the present moment we are only discussing the propositions and initiatives suggested by the Russian Party", V. Lytvyn stated in the course of the interview in the program "Actual Interview" (TRC "Chornomorska") on Wednesday.
According to the Head of the Parliament, "there should be a consensus in the Ukrainian political world and the single line aimed at constructive work and not oppression" for Ukraine becomes an active participant of the bilateral relations.
Asked whether is it possible that Ukraine loses the control over Kerch channel in case of the border delimitation with Russian Federation, V. Lytvyn stated: "I am convinced that borders delimitation between our states is supposed to be done according to the administrative division that was during USSR times."
"Belovezhski and all the further treaties were based on it", he added.
V. Lytvyn expressed hope that CIS Leaders are aware of the fact that "cutting anew" the borders may cause a global conflict not only within post soviet space. Though, he cautioned against "early forcing of the events regarding this issue."
V. Lytvyn also indicated that it is necessary to make everything possible for the Ukrainian and Russian ships have an opportunity "to navigate Kerch channel easily" and for none of the Parties "losses."
